Hi, I'm Carmen - a watercolour artist and children's author. Welcome to my site!

About my Paintings and Books...

In my constant series of waterlily pods, I express my thoughts with warm and cool watercolours. The paintings are semi-abstract, like a collage of design objects.

I am motivated by the transient reality of life. Anything positive that we experience eventually faces its negative, and vice versa: embracing the blossoms of springtime or the autumn leaves, which eventually fall and disappear; a celebration that brings a mass of people together after a disastrous event; or reminiscing about the past with memories of loved ones who long marked their absence in my life, I am peacefully accepting of this reality.

My childhood memories inspire me to write children's stories, where vulnerable characters, both animals and humans, discover justice.

During my early teens, I was captivated by radio soaps, which ignited my passion for storytelling and prompted dreams of becoming a playwright. Upon relocating to Canada, I delved into writing short stories. Now, many years later, these vivid childhood recollections continue to fuel my current written work.
